Jenny Wiley Theatre is proud to announce its 2007-2008 Educational offerings. This year, individual actors, students, teachers and schools have several terrific opportunities that are perfect for a range of theatrical training. We are proud to bring these educational opportunities to our region with the help of the Equitable Resources Foundation, Kentucky Power Company, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Randy & Polly Bradley and the Kentucky Arts Council. Classroom and In-School Drama Workshops October 6-10, 2008: The perfect workshop for any school preparing for annual CATS testing. Qualified instructors actually come to your school classrooms and design the workshop around your students’ needs. Content is consistent with all core content, program of studies and Arts & Humanities testing. Great fun (for students and teachers!) while learning. For more on this opportunity, CLICK HERE.

Theatre-on-Wheels Tour, August 26 - Sept 19: A great way to have the magic of live theatre come to your school. 2008 Production (August/ September) will be the hysterical production Miss Nelson is Missing. For more on this opportunity, CLICK HERE.


Choreographer, Dana Maddox returns to JWT and offers a Dance For Musical Theatre Workshop. Students will have opportunity to prepare for upcoming auditions, enhance dance technique for existing dance students, and learn the history of American Musical Theatre Dance. July 2008. Frankenstein October 15 - 24. Driven by the pain of loss and a passion for science, Victor Frankenstein, a young Swiss Doctor, discovers the secrets of reanimating the dead. The subject of his experiment, The Creature, is rejected in horror by Victor and shunned by society. The Creature vows revenge, and begins to destroy the Doctor’s life. Watch this suspense filled story unfold as JWT introduces a new play based on Mary Shelley’s classic Frankenstein, written for the stage by Mickey Fisher, playwright of last season’s hit, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. School matinees and public evening performances are planned for the production. Educational packages will be available for participating schools 2 weeks prior to opening.
