High School Theatre Festival (November 7-8)

High School Theatre groups from across the state gather to celebrate the creative process in KTA’s play festival, with the winning school receiving a grant from KTA to showcase its work at the 2009 SETC national festival!

Professional Development (November 8)
Experience the best professional development in the state at KTA’s Fall Conference!  Last year’s PD Day included KET Encyclomedia Dance and Drama Resources from KET’s Brian Spellman, Elements of Drama from Alice Lloyd College’s Megan Burnett, Developing Character from professional storyteller Dick Albin, Technical Elements from Murray State’s Maura Cravey, a critical review of one of the high school productions, and more!  You won’t want to miss the chance to exchange ideas with the best teachers and artists from across the state!  Make plans to attend today!

Teacher Idea Exchange Luncheon (November 8)

As part of the professional development day, teachers will have the chance to exchange best practices with peers at this informal luncheon.  A great way to pick up useful, classroom-tested material!

Pre-Professional Auditions (November 8-9)

Over 200 students and pre-professional actors can audition for the chance to be seen by over 100 production companies at the 2009 SETC professional auditions!  Every year, KTA helps put over 50 young actors to work!

Community Theatre Festival (November 8)

The Community Theatre Festival is your chance to showcase the best your community theatre has to offer.  With the chance to perform your work, see what other companies are doing, and share ideas via community theatre-focused workshops, you won’t want to miss this year’s festival.  The winning theatre receives a grant from KTA to take part in the 2009 SETC conference in Birmingham!

The Annual Conference provides an opportunity for theatre enthusiasts from across the state to network, learn, and showcase talent.

Each year, the conference offers the following:

  • High School Theatre Festival
  • Community Theatre Festival
